Personal photo log of memories present and passed.

Star moss, the tiniest of droplets, and a shy caterpillar.

Actual size of the moss. No small creatures were harmed.

Three pals after a meeting.

The green dude is an aphid, so you may imagine the size of the rest.

A tiny forest growing out a step in some stairs.

Droplets trapped on a mini web.

The sticks are pine needles.
Today at work, Autumn was showing off its colours.

I had to take photos and see how the b&w contrast looked. It did not disappoint either.
Little worlds are found all around if you only stop and see...
Inside this seemingly inconspicuous looking building, a magical place is hidden.

The Mechanical Music Museum in Varkaus. A wonderful place for music and mechanism lovers. We were guided by its jolly owner through many rooms, each more impressive than the previous one. We saw from the tiniest to the two story high mechanical music boxes passing by some old timey curiosities in the collection, which are no longer pc. Don't miss out on visiting the museum.

You can see my favourite from the collection in 17/18.
Woke up before anyone else to catch the sunrise. Perks of remote working with colleagues from other campuses.

One more day to go in this dreamy place. I am happy to have taken part in this training and met so many new lovely people.
Evening.
A quiet life...
Once again able to explore the forest.
Just some lovely storm clouds this early evening after work. Aren't they gorgeous?
These days have been such a trip down memory lane. Having a decent working film/photo scanner has made me bring out my old negatives and contact sheets. Some memories have made me laugh and brought so much joy, and others have been heartbreaking all over again, such as these two images.

This first one is of Rafa Saavedra, or Rafa Dro. I met him at school, and although we were never classmates and he was 14 years older than me, we had mutual friends who introduced us on campus, and we became friends. Later, I was a guest on the control panel of his radio show "Selector de Frecuencias"on several occasions, which he co-hosted with the amazing Ejival. Rafa touched a whole generation with his lust for life and music; he was contagious! He was always kind and gave the most amazing bear hugs. Always poignant in his commentaries, easy to laugh with, and ready for an adventure in his beloved Tijuana. I can hear his laughter when I see pictures of him and remember many moments we shared. The one that has stuck with me the most is one breezy autumn day on campus when he stated that there is no more heart-aching phrase in a song than the one from Family's 'La Noche Inventada' that says 'Déjame hacerte una foto con las nubes detrás. Quiero tener algo tuyo si un día te vas', and then told me that that is why he likes to photograph everyone he loves every time he could; he wanted to have something of us in case any one of us left. But nobody expected he would be the one to leave us first.

He passed away a year after I moved to Finland, and I regret never having told him how dear he was to me. I like to believe somehow he knew. I still can't listen to La Noche Inventada without getting a lump in my throat. The song ends with the phrase "Píntalo todo de plata si nos vas a dejar," and he definitely did that; he painted everything silver in his passing through this place.

This second image is another beautiful person who left this place too soon: David Gerstein. He was my classmate and friend during the two years of my Master's studies in Mexico City. Unfortunately, he was very ill but just kept going with a joy for every moment. He was a cinematographer and a storyteller. He c
