I am a born-and-raised Mexican visual artist residing in Finland now. At the moment, I am doing my doctoral research to attain the title of Doctor of Arts and Design from the University of Lapland. The focus of my studies is the intersection between education, art, toys and games. At the same time, I am a lecturer at the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences XAMK in the Culture Department at the Game Design, Game Art BAs and in the Virtual Production MA.
I’ve been a lecturer since approx. 2006. My courses have focused on Visual Language, Visual Culture, Digital Culture, Visual Storytelling, Audiovisual Language and Design, and 3D Character and Environment Creation
I have a BA degree in Communications with an emphasis in Cultural Studies and Media, and an MA in Visual Arts, concentrating my studies on Photography and Gender.
Intrigued by social interactions, mass culture, surroundings and upbringing, photography and art have become a gateway for understanding others and myself.
